The Western Bay of Plenty Ostomy Society Inc members are caring People who are only too willing to give support to Ostomy patients. If you have come out of hospital with a Colostomy, Ileostomy, or Urostomy, which by now you will be calling a bag (amoungst other things!), Society members will know just how worrying this can be when you THINK that you will have to learn to live a whole new lifestyle, and we are available to talk to or to visit with you at home or in the hospital and help you to overcome these difficulties.
An understanding Ostomate will treat you with total confideniality at all times. |

The benifits of belonging to the Western Bay of Plenty Ostomy Society Inc.
1/. We provide a support network to new and existing Ostomates and their families. This is available both formally and informally in a confidential and caring way.
2/. We organise meetings with the opportunity for Ostomates to discuss topics of mutual interest and hear guest speakers on relevant topics.
3/. We arrange social functions and outings.
4/.We visit Ostomy patients both at home or at the hospital, both before and after surgery.
5/. We provide resource material for persons seeking information about Ostomies.
6/. We train existing Ostomates in visitor proceedures and techniques.
7/. Our capitation levy assists the Federation of New Zealand Ostomies Inc with the work of the national organisation.
